I didn`t get LNB and Feed from Germany, but directly from manufacturer that is located in South Korea. I paid less... and got PLL LNB that is the same if not better than Norsat 9000HD-3F. Nexgenwave LNBs offered on German site are not for full band, even they may be capable to cover full band. See spec from manufacturer.

I got the permission from the manufacturer to attach specification sheets of their products on satellite web sites, so here they are.

Ka-band Feed_FD9000.pdf
Ka-Band PLL LNB R9000H.pdf

Added 28.3.2013:
As I see that PONNY has started advertising XMW LNBs R9000 Series. Well, maybe I`m wrong, but there was a picture and spec sheets of a Nexgenwave for first couple of days, that`s why I mentioned that they are "different". He still hasn`t removed "Artikel Nr.: NEX-210" that remains from the previous offer.
http://www.nexgenwave.com/prod_03-09.html
I guess that he is still waiting for LNBs to be available as when I asked at XMW a couple of weeks ago about a R9000D DRO modelavailability as I was curious about its price I was told it is not available at the moment. So I went for PLL version that I wanted anyway. I took the only one piece that they have in stock.... So I was pretty lucky! The parcel was delivered to me within 3 working days.

I personally think that “Ponny” is waiting for LNBs to be manufactured first as he wasn`t sure until now what manufacturer he will make an order from. XMW is good choice.
There was also a discussion on german DX site whether those LNBs (Nexgenwave) will perform in full band if they are designed for 650 Mhz instead of 1000 Mhz range. Well, it is all just about filters used… even the biggest problem at the moment is their availability as none of those two manufacturers (Nexgenwave or XMW) have any stock of DRO type at the moment. Especially of the “D type – 21.2-22.2Ghz Ghz”.

Pasmo Ka - feedhorn tests

#53

Post autor: sato » 22 kwie 2013, 4:00

Here are a few tests made by Onacila on 20 April 2013 in Michalovce, Slovakia.
Reception of Eutelsat 16A @ 16°E.

Tested feedhorns:

1) Customized Kovosat KU band feedhorn
2) Home made feedhorn and scalar ring
3) XMW FD9000 Ka band feedhorn (18.2-20.2 Ghz)

The test was made only on a 1.2m prime focus dish as no similar offset dish was available. That`s why don`t take the reception results from the XMW feedhorn as the best possible. Also bear in mind the fact, that the manufacturer`s recommended band of this feedhorn is under the tested frequency range.
The purpose of the test was just to show possibilities of using Ku band feedhorns for Ka band reception.

The weather is getting better, so more tests and comparisons will follow shortly.

Inverto White Ka Twin lnb isn`t the only commercial lnb on the market now. There is also a Triax TKT 001 on sale now. It also operates in 19.70 - 20.20 GHz (Lo 21.20 GHz) with circular polarized signals.

Triax TKT 001:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Triax-TKT-001 ... _439wt_932

or

http://www.satellitesuperstore.com/ka_band_lnb.htm

Unfortunately those 2 lnbs are completely useless in the European region unless you can try to get Hylas 1 @ 33.5°W or Hylas 2 @ 31.0°E that opearate in the frequency range 19.7-20.2Ghz and use circular polarization. For all other satellites a professional lnb is required. Then you start at price of $170 per lnb..... I and Peon also started with White Ka as the price of the lnb is low. So why not try it out and see at least some reception in Ka band. (A PC card is required then as all you get is data only - Avanti Broadband!)

A new Inverto IDLW-SINLRA20-D2045-OPP (21.4-22.0 GHz) Lnb is announced on the manufacturer`s web site.

http://www.inverto.tv/products/product. ... 249&cat=92

Even the information provided there says it is for Nilesat 201 reception, by my opinion it will be used in the Arab world for DTH services similar to that provided by RTE @ 9°E.
In this case, all Ka band services will start on a new Es'hail-1 (aka Eutelsat-25B) satellite that will be located at 25.5°E. Launch is scheduled for August 2013 by Arianespace.

http://www.eutelsat.com/news/media_libr ... AT-25B.pdf

Detailed info:
http://www.eshailsat.qa/Fleet.aspx

Unfortunately, the Inverto lnb will be no use for sat reception of 7°E or 16°E in 21.2-22.2Ghz range as it`s manufactured for reception of circular polarisation. Another problem will be the Ka beam itself. Europe is completely out of centre, so I expect huge luck to get it although big dishes will be used. LNB`s noise is 1.3 dB, so do not expect any wonders! Professional Lnbs by Norsat, XMW or Actox have typical Noise figure of 1.6 dB.

There may be speculations about this, but I strongly believe in this "theory" of mine as there is no reason to provide an Lnb of this kind only for Internet services and DIY installation. It can`t be! Everybody knows that Net companies such as Hughes, Bentley Walker, Tooway and probably also Forsway use and provide their own sets. There must be something more behind this lnb. Maybe description is also right and there will be something from Nilesat, but I bet they`re waiting for Es'hail-1 satellite to be launched as it has more Ka band capacity.
Only 4 Ka band transpoders of Nilesat 201 don`t give them too much opportunities...
